This position is located in the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP), Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary (ODAS), Division of Policy Development in Washington, D.C.
This position is outside of the bargaining unit.
Qualifications:
For GS-15: Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, GS-14, in the Federal service.
Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position successfully, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level.
Qualifying specialized experience for the GS-15 level includes at least three (3) of the following:
- Lead or direct teams that analyze, develop, and/or implement policies related to the employment of individuals with disabilities;
- Identify, evaluate and address major disability program and policy issues;
- Provide policy and program analysis and recommendations relating to the employment of individuals with disabilities;
- Synthesize inputs from functional areas (e.g., disability employment, rehabilitation services, accessibility, technology, workforce development, and social services) to develop comprehensive policies that promote employment for individuals with disabilities; and/or
- Experience with broad technology policy issues such as those related to accessible technology for individuals with disabilities.

Responsibilities:
- Serves as a Supervisory Policy Advisor and performs functions to include: the synthesis of inputs across other organizational functional areas to facilitate policy creation and integration.
- Responsible for supervising, directing, and managing one of several formal policy teams, composed of functional disability employment policy experts.
- Participates with the Assistant Secretary, Deputy Assistant Secretary, and other policy officials to develop nationwide policies, plans, and programs that promote the employment of people with disabilities.
- Serves as a recognized authority on disability employment policy issues and defines, plans, conducts, and supervises the conduct of highly complex studies, projects, and analyses relating to the policy development functions of the Office.
- Represents the Assistant Secretary and/or the Office of Disability Employment Policy in contacts within the Department, with officials in other Federal agencies, with Congress and key stakeholders in the public and private sectors.
