This position is in the Office of Air and Radiation, Office of State Air Partnerships, Communications and Regulatory Management Office.

This is an office-centered position--you must physically report to one of the duty stations stated in this announcement on a regular basis.

Qualifications:

In addition to the basic education requirements, you must have specialized experience and/or directly related education as described below:

To qualify for the GS-14 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-13 level defined as providing policy and/or regulatory advice to program leadership; providing input on regulatory and/or communication plans; and coaching or mentoring others.

To qualify for the GS-15 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-14 level defined as advising teams, stakeholders, and/or senior leadership on policy or regulatory matters; providing oversight and recommendations on regulatory or communication plans; and leading workgroups, projects or programs.

You will need the following competencies in order to perform the duties of this position successfully at GS-14:

Responsibilities:

You will:

  • Plan, organize, and direct the activities of the organizational unit, to ensure they comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customers’ needs.
  • Exercise supervisory responsibilities to foster an environment that empowers employees to participate in and contribute to mission success.
  • Represent the organization to internal and external stakeholders by building effective working relationships, providing authoritative research and programmatic guidance, and fostering collaboration.
  • Serve as a technical advisor on issues pertaining to policy, regulatory review, and communications for the assigned office.
