Responsibilities
- Assist skilled pipefitters in cutting, threading, fitting, and installing pipes according to construction plans and schematics
- Support in welding operations including MIG, FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), TIG, and pipe welding to join metal components securely
- Prepare materials using hand tools, power tools, calipers, and schematics to ensure precise fabrication and assembly
- Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to understand project requirements and specifications
- Follow safety regulations such as NFPA standards and OSHA guidelines during all phases of construction and maintenance work
- Aid in the installation of sprinkler systems, fire sprinkler fitting, HVAC piping, and plumbing systems on-site
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools, inspecting equipment for safety compliance, and adhering to safety protocol procedures
Qualifications
- Prior construction site experience or apprenticeship in pipefitting or plumbing is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential
- Basic knowledge of mechanical concepts, pipe threading, tube bending, soldering, and pipe installation techniques
- Familiarity with welding processes including MIG, FCAW, TIG, and pipe welding; experience with welding is a plus
- Ability to read construction plans, schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings accurately
- Competence with hand tools, power tools, calipers, and basic math skills for measurements and calculations
- Understanding of safety regulations related to construction sites and manufacturing environments
- Strong teamwork attitude with excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials safely and stand for extended periods during project execution
