Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Commercial Mechanical Estimator based in Wilmington, NC. The primary responsibilities include preparing accurate construction cost estimates for mechanical systems, evaluating project specifications, and assessing bidding opportunities. The Estimator will work closely with the project management team to analyze budgets, identify potential risks, and ensure adherence to financial targets. Additionally, the role requires maintaining effective communication with vendors, clients, and internal teams to ensure project timelines and objectives are met efficiently.

Job description:

• Salary starting at $85,000.00 and will increase based on the experience of the candidate.
• Estimated HVAC project costs for residential, commercial, and mixed-use buildings ranging from $10K to $3M in scope.
• Interpreted blueprints, specifications, and scope documents to produce accurate material takeoffs and labor costs.
• Collaborated with project managers and engineers to develop competitive bids and value engineering proposals.
• Maintained strong vendor relationships to ensure accurate pricing on materials and subcontractor quotes.
• Identified cost-saving opportunities and helped reduce average bid variance by 15% over two years.
• Used estimation software (e.g., Trimble, FastPIPE, PlanSwift) for digital takeoffs and bid submissions.
• Attended site visits and pre-bid meetings to assess project feasibility and gather critical information.
• Participated in project meetings and site visits to collect essential data and clarify project requirements
• Work closely with the Bid Coordinator and estimating team to manage the bid calendar and ensure timely submission of proposals
