Schedule
As a Trailer Mechanic, you’ll work alongside experienced mechanics and receive mentorship while performing inspections, routine maintenance, and repairs on 28-to-53-foot company freight trailers. You’ll play an essential role in keeping our fleet safe, efficient, and compliant with Federal and State regulations.

- Monday – Friday, 5:30 AM – 3:30 PM
- Overtime and weekends as needed
As a Trailer Mechanic, you’ll work alongside experienced mechanics and receive mentorship while performing inspections, routine maintenance, and repairs on 28-to-53-foot company freight trailers. You’ll play an essential role in keeping our fleet safe, efficient, and compliant with Federal and State regulations.
In This Role, You Will
- Adhere to shop rules, maintenance procedures, and safety regulations, including proper use of PPE.
- Build strong working relationships with co-workers, carriers, vendors, and drivers.
- Review work orders and collaborate with mentors, supervisors, and fellow mechanics.
- Perform detailed inspections using checklists for belts, hoses, brakes, fuel systems, wheel bearings, and other key components.
- Test and adjust repaired systems to ensure compliance with manufacturer performance standards.
- Confer with drivers to assess and troubleshoot vehicle concerns.
- Disassemble units and inspect parts for wear using precision tools.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on trailers, including oil changes, lubrications, and tune-ups.
- Repair, replace, and adjust brakes and tires.
- Perform welding and general repairs as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Participate in inventory, training programs, safety events, and company meetings.
- Complete other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of trailer mechanical experience preferred; forklift, pallet jack, yard hostler, or related equipment repair experience will be considered.
- Must own and maintain basic hand tools and composite or steel-toed work boots.
- Ability to read and comprehend manuals, wiring diagrams, schematics, and diagnostic tools.
- Active driver’s license required; must be maintained at all times due to occasional non-CDL driving duties.
- Welding experience is a plus.
