Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Tractor Trailer Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods across designated routes while ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and company policies. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to handle various types of trailers, including refrigerated and flatbed.
Responsibilities
- Operate tractor-trailer units in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling of goods to prevent damage.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of hours worked, mileage, and fuel consumption.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Navigate routes efficiently while adhering to delivery timelines.
- Manage various types of trailers such as tankers, roll-off trucks, dump trucks, and refrigerated trailers as needed.
- Utilize manual transmission vehicles when required and demonstrate proficiency in route driving.
Experience
- Proven experience as a truck driver or delivery driver is preferred.
- Familiarity with operating different types of trucks including flatbeds, tankers, roll-off trucks, and dump trucks is advantageous.
- Experience with load unloading procedures and safe handling practices for various cargo types is essential.
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles is a plus.
- A valid commercial driver's license (CDL) is required along with a clean driving record.
