The Commodity Manager leads sourcing and supplier management activities for key commodity groups, ensuring the organization has a reliable, cost-effective, and high-quality supply base. This role is responsible for supplier performance, strategic sourcing, cost reduction initiatives, and leading a team of procurement professionals in support of manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sourcing and commodity strategies.
- Manage supplier selection, negotiations, performance, and development.
- Drive cost savings, supplier consolidation, and risk reduction initiatives.
- Partner with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Program Management to support production and new programs.
- Lead supplier reviews, audits, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Mentor and develop buyers and sourcing team members.
- Ensure compliance with quality, regulatory, and contractual requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5 years of procurement, sourcing, or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience managing suppliers and commodity strategies.
- 2 years of leadership experience.
- Aerospace or defense industry experience strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of AS9100, NADCAP, or other regulated manufacturing standards is a plus.
