Senior IT Systems Administrator / Team Lead (On-Site in Nashville)
Position Overview
The Senior IT Systems Administrator (on-site in Nashville) will mentor and collaborate with a team of two additional IT engineer and support professionals. This role is responsible for ensuring system reliability, security, and performance across servers, networks, cloud services, and end-user technologies. The Senior Administrator also reports to the Finance department, ensuring alignment between IT operations, business priorities, and organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Mentor and support a team of two IT technicians/administrators.
- Establish and maintain IT operational standards, documentation practices, and change-control processes.
- Partner closely with the Finance department (direct reporting line) to support strategic planning, budgeting, and IT governance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors to deliver reliable IT services.
Technical Responsibilities
- Architect, maintain, and optimize server, network, and storage infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance.
- Provide infrastructure-level support for Sage X3 & Maximizer CRM, including system access, server resource monitoring, and coordination with the external ERP/CRM consultant for application-level tasks.
- Administer and maintain enterprise systems including Active Directory, M365/Azure AD, virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V), backup systems, and security tools.
- Serve as the highest-level escalation point for complex incidents, outages, or infrastructure failures.
- Lead IT infrastructure upgrades, cloud migrations, deployments, and capacity planning initiatives.
- Implement and enforce security best practices, including monitoring, vulnerability remediation, and policy adherence.
- Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Manage vendor relationships, procurement, licensing, and technology renewals.
Requirements
- 6β10 years of progressive systems administration or infrastructure experience.
- Proven experience collaborating in small IT teams or acting as a senior escalation point.
- Advanced knowledge of Windows Server, VMware/Hyper-V, networking, storage systems, and security practices.
- Experience with hybrid and cloud environments including security (Azure, M365).
- Strong communication, project management, and documentation skills.
- Professional certifications (CCNA/CCNP, MCSE, VMware VCP, Azure Administrator) preferred.
Salary : $115 - $145
