Job Description Summer Intern – LOSSAN Marketing & Digital Media Under direct supervision, this ten-week Summer Internship provides hands-on experience supporting the LOSSAN Marketing team, which promotes the Amtrak/Pacific Surfliner service. Interns will contribute to digital marketing, content creation, and field marketing initiatives designed to enhance customer engagement and strengthen brand presence across the corridor. As a Summer College Intern, you will be exposed to OCTA's career opportunities in the transportation industry. You will gain deeper awareness of transportation's many facets through your OCTA orientation, projects and teams, and internal networking. This is a temporary, full-time internship position (approximately 40 hours per week).The program runs for ten weeks. You will gain real world work experience on meaningful projects under the guidance of a transportation professional. You will have the opportunity to use problem solving, communication and decision-making skills as you gain valuable work experience. You will also work with a mentor and benefit from career counseling. The pay range is from $19.00 - $22.00 per hour depending on your education level. This position is not eligible for employee benefits. The work schedule will consist of approximately 20 hours a week, not to exceed 1,000 hours within a continuous 12-month period. This posting will remain open until filled. What You’ll Do Support execution of marketing strategies that enhance customer experience and engagement Assist with video production, editing, and graphic design for marketing campaigns Create and edit digital content for social media and other marketing channels Develop on-camera social media content and participate in field marketing activities Engage with customers and audiences at events, stations, and along the rail corridor Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to support campaigns, projects, and events Contribute to marketing initiatives that promote the Pacific Surfliner service What We’re Looking For Currently enrolled full-time college student (Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior) at an accredited college or university Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Public Relations, Film/Media Production, or related field Students that graduated with their bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in the fall of 2025 or plan to graduate in the spring of 2026 are eligible Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher Strong communication and interpersonal skills Interest in content creation, social media, and digital marketing Creative mindset with basic knowledge of video editing or graphic design tools Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment Why You’ll Love It Here Gain hands-on experience in rail marketing and public transportation campaigns Create real content seen by thousands of riders across Southern California Participate in field marketing and on-site activations Build skills in digital media, storytelling, and audience engagement Work with a dynamic team promoting one of California’s premier rail services Join a team where innovation, integrity, and strategic thinking are valued.
