Job Title: Import Agent Department: Pharmaceuticals Salary Range: $19.23 to $28.46 an hour FLSA Status: Non-ExemptReports to: Pharmaceuticals Import SupervisorLocation: Chelsea, MA 100% in OfficePosition OverviewAs an Import Agent you will manage international import shipments from origin to delivery, ensuring operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and superior customer service in a deadline-driven logistics environment.Schedule Note: This role may include rotating weekends and holiday shifts based on operational needs.Key Responsibilities Manage international import shipments Coordinate with agents, carriers, and customers to meet schedulesPrepare and submit required customs and import documentationObtain charges, process payments, and secure cargo releaseTrack shipments and reconcile required documentsResolve delays, damages, and discrepanciesArrange final delivery as neededProvide client updates and solutionsProcess shipments in the TMSHandle temperature-controlled cargo, including re-icing and packagingWhat We’re Looking ForWe are looking for someone with knowledge of import operations or freight forwarding. The role requires strong attention to detail and effective time-management skills, along with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, team environment. Successful candidates will demonstrate professional communication and problem-solving abilities and be comfortable interacting with customs officials and regulatory agencies worldwide.Work EnvironmentWork is performed in an office environment with no significant exposure to adverse environmental conditions. Requires sustained concentration and attention to detailActive participation in conversations occurs amid typical office background noise.Frequent visual focus is required for examining paperwork, computer monitors, and keyboards.The role requires quick responses to changing circumstances, integrating new information, and adjusting approaches as needed.This position involves light work, occasionally requiring exertion of up to 20 pounds for carrying, lifting, pushing, or pulling.
