Floral Designer

Job Summary

• Experienced RETAIL floral designer with minimum of 2 years in a working retail florist shop
• Must be skilled in all aspects of design, including but not limited to, traditional and contemporary design, sympathy work, and most importantly, wedding and event design.
• Must be able to work with both fresh and silk flowers.
• Applicant must be knowledgeable in floral processing and care as well as working with the floral wire services.
• Must be friendly and outgoing and able to work in a fast paced working environment while still achieving optimal customer service and high productivity.
• Applicant must have a flexible work schedule and reliable transportation.
• Weekend availability is an absolute must.
• Event work will sometimes require long hours, so physical stamina is required.
• Some heavy lifting involved.
• Position is part-time with the opportunity for full time.
• Creativity IS a must!
• Applicant must be dependable, trustworthy, and reliable with an excellent work ethic.
  
  

We are a total event management company including full service florist and event rental company specializing in event design and decor. Only serious career designers need to apply.

Responsibilities and Duties

• High output floral design and productivity both with daily retail flower orders as well as event design.
• Customer service to include answering phones, taking orders, processing orders, servicing walk-in clientele,
• Must be able to keep floral coolers stocked with designs at multiple locations
• Process flowers and dress plants when shipments arrive
• Clean and stock work areas
• Keep up with inventory and order supplies as needed
• Come up with eye catching and creative displays and window designs
• Keep showroom clean and well organized.
• Some on-site event set up is required.
  
  

Qualifications And Skills

• RETAIL floral experience with all aspects of both fresh and silk flower design required.
• Customer friendly and knowledgeable in all available flower/plant varieties and how to care for them.
• Computer savvy, organized, and proficient.
• Business background is helpful but not required.
