Trask Family Farms has been family owned and operated since 1930. We grow produce and flowers on 35 acres just outside Wilmington, and we're home to one of the largest U-Pick flower fields in the area.
We are seeking a passionate and creative Freelance Floral Designer to bring beauty and artistry to our floral arrangements for various events, retail displays, and custom orders. This dynamic role offers the flexibility to work independently while showcasing your floral design expertise. Responsibilities
- Design and create custom floral arrangements for events and retail displays ensuring each piece meets aesthetic standards and client specifications
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace that adheres to safety and sanitation standards
- Assist with merchandising floral products in retail settings to attract customers and boost sales
- Identify various plants, flowers, and foliage to ensure proper handling and arrangement techniques
Skills
- Proven experience in floral design with a strong portfolio showcasing your work
- Knowledge of horticulture, plant identification, and gardening practices
- Skilled in floral arrangement techniques, including bouquet making, boutonnieres, centerpieces, and large installations
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects efficiently
- Comfortable working outdoors in Southeastern NC heat and on your feet
- Basic retail math skills for pricing, inventory management, and stock replenishment
- Ability to operate floral tools safely and maintain a clean workspace
