- You will advise the Director of Emergency Services on all physical security matters.
- You will coordinate with other installation elements and other agencies in the preparation of emergency plans (i.e., bomb threats, disaster plans, etc.).
- You will prepare, maintain and update the arms, ammunition and explosives and physical security plans as they relate to the IMCOM and various tenant missions.
- You will conduct routine physical and internal security inspections unannounced, detecting deficiencies and violations of directives
- You will prepare reports and make recommendations for remedial actions when warranted to appropriate supervisors/chiefs
- You will monitor the key control system, badge system to insure adequacy and regulatory compliance.
- You will evaluate work performance of subordinates, and gives advice, counsel, or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters.
Conditions of employment
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- This position has been identified for the Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Certification Program.
- This position requires the incumbent to obtain the Physical Security Certification (PSC) within their first two years of employment.
- Subsequent SPeD certifications are required with the requirement to complete one per year each consecutive year thereafter in the order mandated by the SPeD certification sequence and/or as mandated by the organizational leadership.
- Subsequent SPeD certifications required for this position include: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within their first two years of employment.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
- This position requires work both inside and outside with possible exposure to inclement weather.
- As directed, may be required to work other than normal duty hours that may include evening, weekends, and/or holidays and overtime.
- Incumbent must obtain and maintain appropriate Information Assurance (IA)Technical Certification and Computing Environment (CE) Certifications, within six months of entrance on duty.
