- As head lifeguard, oversees the accomplishment of work and evaluates waterfront operation efficiencies. Assist manager by insuring adequate staffing of operations with personnel and the safety of users.
- Directs lifeguards as required in the performance of their duties. Performs checks and makes adjustments in water quality levels and ensures that the pump rooms are maintained and operational.
- As head lifeguard, supports the management team in decision making and responding to concerns of guests and users. As lifeguard, responsible for the life guarding of guests at the waterfront. Rescues swimmers and administers first aid as required.
- Coordinates and conducts in-service and water survival training according to ATP 7-22.01 as of October 2020. Attends and or arranges for the conduct of aquatics and ocean front safety training. Maintains peak physical condition.
- Maintains daily logs and records as required. Carries out work in accordance with policies, regulations, directives, and requirements. Exercises judgment on routine matters where discretion is permitted.

- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A one-year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
- In addition, the incumbent may be subject to additional background checks if required to have regular and recurring contact with children.
- Must be physically fit in order to perform lifeguard duties. Lifeguard must have good vision (based upon acceptable standard of 20/40 vision or better, either corrected (with glasses or contacts) or uncorrected. (Physical required)
- As head lifeguard, must hold current waterfront lifeguard, CPR, oxygen administration, AED, and First Aid certification. Within 6 months of hire must obtain first responder’s certification.
- A Lifeguard Instructor certificate is preferred. Must have 12 months of experience in waterfront operation as a lifeguard with experience in ocean rescue.
- Must be able to use sound judgment, accomplish tasks within established timeframes, and possess good people skills requiring the ability to communicate in a clear, concise, and grammatically correct manner.
- Must have experience with office functions such as preparing and managing reports.
- Continuous exposure to sun and prolonged periods of high temperature and humidity. In case of exposure to infectious disease, incumbent is required to obtain the Hepatitis B vaccination series within a 24-hour period.
- Incumbent is required to follow environmental safeguards and wear personal protective equipment. May be assigned to irregular duties or when needed for special recreational events and related requirements.
- Work hours may involve weekdays, weekends, holidays and night duty.

- Experience with office and administrative functions, including preparing and managing reports
- Lifeguard Instructor certificate is preferred
