OSD 2026/2027 SY MS VOLLEYBALL COACH

Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to serve as the Volleyball Coach for the Oakville Middle School/High School for the 2026/2027 school year. This seasonal position involves leading and developing student-athletes in the sport of volleyball while fostering a positive and inclusive team environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong coaching skills, a commitment to athlete development, and the ability to inspire and motivate young players.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct daily practice sessions that focus on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
• Develop game strategies and prepare the team for competitions, ensuring that all players understand their roles and responsibilities.
• Monitor and assess the progress of each athlete, providing constructive feedback to enhance their performance.
• Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes respect, inclusivity, and personal growth.
• Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and school administration regarding team expectations, schedules, and any relevant updates.
• Organize and oversee team events, including games, tournaments, and team-building activities.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all athletes during practices and competitions, adhering to all school and athletic policies.
• Collaborate with other coaching staff and school personnel to promote a cohesive athletic program.
• Attend coaching clinics and workshops to stay current on best practices in coaching and athlete development.

Requirements

• Previous coaching experience in volleyball at the middle school or high school level is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of volleyball rules, techniques, and strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with student-athletes, parents, and school staff.
• Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes while promoting teamwork and sportsmanship.
• Strong organizational skills to manage practice schedules, game plans, and team logistics.
• First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to the start of the season).
• Must pass a background check and adhere to all school district policies and procedures.
• A commitment to the academic and personal development of student-athletes.
