The Oakville High School is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our coaching staff as an Assistant Girls Basketball Coach for the upcoming season. This seasonal position offers a unique opportunity to work with student-athletes, fostering their skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Responsibilities

• Assist the head coach in planning and conducting daily practices, including skill development, drills, and game strategies.
• Support the head coach in organizing team logistics, including scheduling games, transportation, and equipment management.
• Mentor and motivate student-athletes to enhance their performance and personal growth on and off the court.
• Evaluate player performance and provide constructive feedback to help athletes improve their skills and understanding of the game.
• Promote a positive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, respect, and teamwork.
• Collaborate with other coaching staff and school personnel to ensure a cohesive approach to player development.
• Attend all practices, games, and team meetings as required.
• Assist in the recruitment of prospective players and promote the basketball program within the school and local community.

Requirements

• Previous coaching experience preferred, preferably in basketball at the high school or middle school level.
• Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategies, and rules of the game.
• Ability to communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, and administration.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to foster a positive team environment.
• First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Availability to work evenings and weekends during the basketball season.
• A commitment to the academic and athletic success of student-athletes.
