Responsibilities
- Safely operate a school van, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Transport students to and from school, ensuring timely arrivals and departures.
- Assist students with boarding and disembarking from the van, providing support as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle, conducting routine inspections and reporting any maintenance issues.
- Communicate effectively with school staff, parents, and students regarding transportation schedules and any changes.
- Ensure the safety of all passengers by enforcing seatbelt use and monitoring behavior during transit.
- Complete necessary documentation, including daily logs and incident reports, as required.
- Attend training sessions and meetings as needed to stay informed about safety protocols and district policies.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience driving a van or similar vehicle preferred.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and late afternoons.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices for transporting students.
- CPR and First Aid certification is a plus, but not required.
