Oakville Van Driver

Summary
We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Van Driver to join our team at the X_Oakville School District on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting students safely and efficiently to and from school and various school-related events. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, punctuality, and excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a school van, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
• Transport students to and from school, ensuring timely arrivals and departures.
• Assist students with boarding and disembarking from the van, providing support as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized vehicle, conducting routine inspections and reporting any maintenance issues.
• Communicate effectively with school staff, parents, and students regarding transportation schedules and any changes.
• Ensure the safety of all passengers by enforcing seatbelt use and monitoring behavior during transit.
• Complete necessary documentation, including daily logs and incident reports, as required.
• Attend training sessions and meetings as needed to stay informed about safety protocols and district policies.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Previous experience driving a van or similar vehicle preferred.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and late afternoons.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices for transporting students.
• CPR and First Aid certification is a plus, but not required.
