Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Medical Front Desk Receptionist to join a busy family medicine private practice. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing a variety of administrative tasks. Duties
- Greet patients warmly upon arrival, verify patient information, and assist with check-in procedures using EMR system: eClinicalWorks
- Schedule appointments efficiently utilizing medical scheduling software and coordinate follow-up visits as needed
- Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification to ensure accurate billing and claims processing
- Collect co-pays and outstanding balances, process payments accurately using our EMR
- Maintain organized medical records, including documentation review, filing, and updating patient charts in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Answer multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, triage calls appropriately, and direct inquiries to the correct staff members
- Assist with medical billing and coding tasks such as CPT coding, ICD-10 coding, and Medicare/Medicaid/Tricare/Commercial Insurance claims to support accurate reimbursement processes
- Support office management by handling clerical duties like data entry, typing reports, and supporting front desk operations
- Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate patient intake processes and ensure seamless clinic flow
- Uphold confidentiality standards related to health information management and adhere to HIPAA guidelines at all times
Experience
- Prior experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting is highly preferred, especially within family medicine clinics
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems, preferably with experience using eClinicalWorks (ECW)
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10 coding, CPT coding, and medical billing practices required
- Experience with insurance verification processes and Commercial/Medicare/Medicaid claims submission is advantageous
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively serve diverse patient populations
- Excellent customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and clerical experience in a busy office environment are necessary
- Proven ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced setting
