Job Title: House Manager

Classification: Exempt Effective Date: March 2025

Job Summary: The House Manager is responsible for oversight and organization of the household, supervising Teaching Assistants and Overnight Staff assigned to the residence, including setting schedules, performance management, and supporting Resident needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Be at least 21 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least two years' experience working with youth in a teaching or supervisory environment
• Able to pass KBI Background Check
• Able to pass a CANIS Check

Principal Accountabilities:

1. Oversight and organization of the household, including cleaning, shopping for household and Resident items, maintenance of house and cars, meal planning, menu posting and recipe/cooking instructions

2. Develop a budget, keep expenses within the budget, track expenses and receipts, and work with administrative office on required recordkeeping

3. Regarding Teaching Assistants and Overnight Staff, set schedule a month in advance, obtain advance approval from the Executive Director for necessary overtime, conduct regular meetings and communicate policy and programmatic changes, ensure licensing and safety compliance, work with Residential Director to conduct performance management, development, and discipline. Conduct regular staff meetings and communicate policy and programmatic changes.

4. Regarding Residents, assist the case coordinator in managing and setting appointments, transport and supervise Residents during out of school time, ensure health and safety compliance, case plan participation, program participation

5. For the house, plan and schedule outings, including assuring mental health, health, spiritual and exercise needs of youth are met

6. Assist the nurse in overseeing medications

7. Responsibility for licensure compliance with the home

8. Work on the floor at least 30 hours weekly as part of oversight responsibilities

9. Cover Teaching Assistant and Overnight Staff duties as needed

10. Assist with staff training

11. Keep house clean and orderly

12. Serve as primary on-call with staff and bring in additional support as need be

13. Other duties as assigned

• Planning and organization skills as required to ensure the house is functioning smoothly
• Communication skills necessary to support written documentation and set expectations for direct reports
• Collaboration with Residential Director, Case Coordinators, and direct care staff to ensure youth safety and program compliance
• Reliability through regular attendance and adherence to program principles

• Judgment in addressing emergencies or nonroutine events
• Conflict management and facilitation skills to assist direct care staff working with youth

Qualifications:

Minimum:

• Be at least 21 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least two years' experience working with youth in a teaching or supervisory environment
• Able to pass KBI Background Check

Preferred:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (teaching, social work, etc.)
• Possess a Kansas driver's license with driving record that satisfies the OCS insurer

Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
