The Reynolds Game Farm is actively seeking a Trades Generalist position is to plan, layout, construct, and repair projects to buildings, flight pens, and other facilities located at the Reynolds Game Farm. This includes but is not limited to repairs and improvements as they relate to the removal, rehabilitation, and construction of pheasant rearing pens and associated buildings & infrastructure at the Reynolds Game Farm. Trades Generalist will be expected to complete tasks & projects independently, from written and oral direction provided by the facility manager. Duties will also include assistance with the rearing, care and transport and delivery of pheasants. This position will require weekends.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Four years of full-time experience in a trade under a skilled tradesperson which would provide training equivalent to that given in a training, apprenticeship, or equivalent program; or an equivalent combination of experience and training gained by completion of technical courses in skilled trades at a school, institute, or branch of the Armed Services. When required to operate motor vehicles, candidates must possess a valid New York State driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle to be operated.
Additional Comments
This is a hourly appointment currently funded through 3/31/2027, with a likelihood of continuing beyond that date. Program needs and funding will determine actual termination date.
Actual work schedule, duties and travel requirements may vary and will be discussed at the interview.
Must have a valid driver’s license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position.
Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain.
Must be able to work in remote areas.
Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions.
Overtime may be required.
Weekends and holidays may be required.
Must be available for emergency response.
Must be available to respond to after-hours emergencies.
Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.
