The duties that the incumbent of the vacancy will be expected to perform. Duties Description Job duties include but are not limited to: • Have a working knowledge of methods, materials, tools and equipment used in the trades to which assigned.• Have a working knowledge of applicable standards and plumbing and electrical code regulations.• Have a working knowledge of safety standards and procedures.• Use tools, machines, equipment and material of the craft or crafts wo which assigned.• Read plans, specifications, manuals and blueprints.• Perform moderate to heavy manual labor.• Understand and carry out written and oral instructions.• Plan and lay out work and diagnose problems.• Train and supervise others.• Climb ladders and work at heights on scaffolds and platforms.• As assigned, operate a motor vehicle.The official workstation is Binghamton, but reporting location may differ and will be discussed during the interview process.
The minimum qualifications required for this vacancy. Minimum Qualifications Four years of full-time experience in a trade under a skilled tradesperson which would provide training equivalent to that given in a training, apprenticeship, or equivalent program; or an equivalent combination of experience and training gained by completion of technical courses in skilled trades at a school, institute, or branch of the Armed Services. When required to operate motor vehicles, candidates must possess a valid New York State driver’s license appropriate for the type of vehicle to be operated.
