The STEM Program Manager plays a vital role in supporting the STEM team, which includes both the Citywide math science and Digital Learning Initiative teams. This position is responsible for assisting in the implementation of major initiatives, as well as managing logistics related to events and vendor coordination. Additionally, the STEM Program Manager supports internal and external communications and oversees general operational functions to ensure the STEM team runs efficiently and effectively. Performs related work.

Key Relationships: Will work closely with the Central Instruction teams, STEM Directors and central content leads, various offices/divisions within the NYCPS, District teams, external stakeholders.

Responsibilities
- Develops communications and materials for districts, schools, community members, and school officials, based on updates to relevant policies and operational needs.
- Develops systems and processes to support seamless interaction between internal stakeholders and external partners, including:
- Content teams
- Field offices and schools
- Instructional/job-embedded support providers and vendors
- Cultural & Community based partners.
- Documents policies and procedures and implements best practices to enhance program efficiency.
- Serves as a liaison between the STEM team and internal/external stakeholders by managing general inboxes, facilitating information dissemination through internal communication channels, and communicating key announcements about workshops, events, and professional learning opportunities via email, newsletters, calendars etc.
- Maintains up-to-date contact information for teachers, principals, and community-based organizations.
- Maintains and updates the STEM: NYC Solves, Science and DLI websites to ensure timely, accurate, and accessible information is shared with NYCPS stakeholders.
- Coordinates office management tasks, including organization and asset inventory.
- Collaborates with the Senior Citywide Programs Manager on budget planning, procurement, and expenditure tracking to ensure compliance with NYCPS policies and procedures.
- Assists with budget management for professional development, events, and activities, as well as office operations, including vendor communication, procurement of supplies and services, and financial reporting.
- Oversees the tracking and processing of per session activities, ensuring alignment with guidance from the Central Instruction operations team.
Minimum
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two (2) years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
- High school graduation or equivalent and six (6) years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
- Education and/or experience which is equivalent to “1” or “2” above. However, all candidates must have at least one (1) year of experience as described in “1” above.
- Ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally.
- Excellent spoken and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop concise summaries and presentations.
- Experience managing the administration, development, and implementation of large-scale programs.
- Strong strategic thinking and project management skills; ability to proactively identify key issues and risks.
- Ability to troubleshoot, problem-solve, and anticipate issues needing resolution.
- Ability to learn quickly and continuously.
- Well-organized; ability to meet frequent and changing deadlines; thrives in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented, with the ability to evaluate the big picture.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications.
