**Position:** Reception/Guest Services/Banista  **Type:** Contract (12 weeks, starting ASAP through 2/20)  **Location:** (Seattle & occasionally Bellevue, WA — multiple buildings**Schedule:** Part-Time (24-29 hours/week), Monday to Friday, between 7:15 AM – 3:45 PM, with occasional evenings and weekends as required by events  **Pay:** $22.45 per hour  **Background Check:** Required  **Parking:** Not provided; Public transportation required (bus pass provided)  ---**Key Responsibilities:**  - Arrive punctually in the designated uniform, prepared to perform duties at the scheduled time.  - Assist with daily setup and teardown of the banana stand, ensuring all items are properly organized.  - Greet and engage visitors with a friendly, professional, and courteous demeanor, consistently delivering a 5-star experience.  - Select appropriate background music during operating hours.  - Unload bananas, separating and organizing them into crates, removing plastic or other packaging materials.  - Maintain well-stocked and organized banana crates throughout the shift.  - Sort and dispose of bruised or damaged bananas into compost.  - Keep the stand clean and organized at all times.  - Monitor and empty the compost bin as needed.  - Record daily metrics related to distribution, compost, and inventory in designated tracking software.  - Capture visitor comments and inquiries, identifying common themes and emergency situations.  - Support monthly inventory counts of stand assets.  - Assist with stand openings, banana redistribution, and operational improvements as directed.  - Participate in training sessions on new processes and updates.  - Learn and share FAQs and banana facts with visitors.  - Decorate the stand for holidays and special events with approved designs.  - Communicate any issues requiring supervisor attention immediately, including media presence or security concerns.  - Follow structured timelines and adapt to unexpected requests.  - Interact with the public, recognizing security concerns and following escalation procedures.  - Work at various stand locations, including off-site, within the specified hours, including occasional after-hours and weekend requests.  - Perform additional duties as assigned.---**Qualifications:**  - GED or high school diploma required.  - Minimum 1 year of customer service experience.  - Commitment to diversity and inclusion, with the ability to work effectively in a diverse environment.  - Flexibility to work outdoors and in various environments.  - Basic math skills (subtraction, multiplication, division up to 3 digits).  - Ability to recall training content and monitor daily distribution trends.  - Proficiency with MS Windows, Excel, and Outlook.  - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.  - Strong interpersonal and communication skills.  - Ability to interpret and follow policies and procedures.  - Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.  - Ability to respond calmly and professionally to emergencies and difficult situations.  - Attention to detail and accuracy.  - Good judgment and the ability to propose alternative solutions.  - Adaptability to change and openness to new methods.---**Working Conditions & Physical Demands:**  - Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly.  - Work in conditions below 40°F or up to 90°F.  - Carry supplies between buildings as needed.  - Continuous walking within a 1.5-mile radius.  - Read, write, speak, and comprehend English.  - Visual acuity for distance and close-up work.  - Ability to understand speech clearly, with or without hearing aids.  - This environment is dog-friendly, with over 1,000 dogs on campus; individuals with allergies or discomfort around dogs may not be suitable.  - Ability to handle food products without allergic reactions.  ---**Ideal Candidate Profile:**  - Enthusiastic about engaging with customers.  - Outgoing yet conscientious and rule-abiding.  - Friendly, kind, and approachable—personality matters.  - Respectful and reliable in attendance.  - Experience in food service, retail, or customer-facing roles, particularly with brands like Starbucks or Compass, is a plus.  - Demonstrates stability with previous employment.  - Corporate experience is beneficial but not required; this role can support personal and professional growth, offering valuable insight and responsibility.Company Descriptionhttps://nvtstaffing.com/job_board_public_detail.php?id=40951
