WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION: Category Strategy & Cost Management: Develop and execute category strategies for metal shapes, machining and stamping, aligned with global sourcing initiatives, business objectives and regional manufacturing needs. Identify and deliver year over year productivity, cost reduction, and inflation mitigation initiatives. Lead should cost, benchmarking, and cost transparency activities to support negotiations and decision making. Supplier Management & Development: Manage and optimize the supplier base, including supplier segmentation (strategic, critical, approved). Lead supplier selection, onboarding, qualification, and performance management activities. Drive supplier development plans focused on quality, delivery, capacity, and continuous improvement. Supply Risk & Resilience: Assess and mitigate supply risk, including sole source dependencies and capacity constraints. Define and implement dual sourcing and “In Region for Region” strategies where applicable. Proactively manage supply continuity risks for new product introductions (NPI/NPD) and volume ramps. Contracting & Commercial Leadership: Lead RFQ/RFP processes, negotiations, and long term agreements for machining and stamping suppliers. Ensure contracts address pricing mechanisms, capacity commitments, service levels, and risk sharing. Partner with Legal and Finance to ensure compliant and value adding commercial agreements. Cross Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Program Management on sourcing decisions and supplier technical alignment. Support make vs buy analysis and specification optimization to improve manufacturability and cost. Act as a sourcing lead for new product development and supplier industrialization activities. Governance, Tools & Reporting: Ensure sourcing activities comply with internal governance and supplier approval processes. Maintain accurate data and documentation in sourcing systems (e.g., Ivalua, ERP, reporting dashboards). Provide clear reporting on savings, risk, supplier performance, and category roadmaps to leadership. YOU HAVE: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field Several years of experience in strategic sourcing, category management, or supply chain roles. Background in metal manufacturing categories, machining or stamping. Proven experience leading negotiations, supplier sourcing events, and contract management. Ability to manage complex supplier landscapes and technical discussions Experience with should costing, supplier cost breakdowns, and productivity funnels. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills (English & Romanian).
