Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher to join our After School program at our Child Care Center working from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering a nurturing and stimulating environment for children ages 4 and up , fostering their growth and development through engaging activities and structured learning experiences.
Responsibilities
- Provide a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively, employing positive reinforcement strategies to guide children's interactions.
- Observe and assess children's progress, documenting developmental milestones and identifying areas for improvement.
- Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress, challenges, and achievements.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan and execute educational activities that promote physical education and special education needs.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom space that is conducive to learning.
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge of childhood development.
- Other duties as assigned
Experience
- Presently employed as a public school teacher is a plus.
- Knowledge of curriculum development, classroom management, and behavior management techniques is essential.
- Familiarity with standardized testing practices in early childhood settings is a plus.
- A strong understanding of childhood development principles is necessary to support the diverse needs of children in the classroom.
