Nurse Care of Buckhead Wound Care Director Nurse Care of Buckhead is currently seeking a qualified RN/LPN Wound Care Director. The Wound Care Service Director directs the program and staff of the wound care program under the supervision of the Director of Nursing. The Job description/responsibilities include but not limited to the following:- Provide skin care to residents with an emphasis on prevention and treatment of skin disorders.
- Identifies, plans, implements, and evaluates skin care in residents.
- Identifies, manages, and treats specific skin disorders.
- Performs an assessment evaluation using techniques including observation, and inspection.
- Confers with the Care Planning Team in the development of the care plan while ensuring that wound care treatments/interventions are care planned.
- Provides treatment for skin disorders within established wound care protocol.
- Monitors the use of preventive measures such as inspection, turning and positioning.
- Assists in modifying the treatment regimen to meet the needs of the resident, in accordance with established medical practices, the regulatory guidelines and the policies and goals of this facility.
- Provides information to resident and caregivers on prevention techniques and other ways to maintain or improve the general health and psychosocial status of the resident.
- Round weekly with wound care Physician
- Participate in an on-call rotation every 5-6 weeks.
- Update and report weekly Wound report.
- Provide as needed education to staff on wound prevention.
Wound Care Director Qualifications:
Current Georgia RN/LPN license. 2-year experience in LTC nursing preferred.
Experience in skin care preferred.
Wound Care certification preferred and/or to be obtained within the first 6 months of employment
