Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide exceptional support and care to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, home health environments, and community programs. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor patients’ health status by observing vital signs and reporting any concerns promptly
- Support medication administration in accordance with care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and safety
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption as needed
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and sanitation
- Use specialized equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident’s personal assistive devices to ensure safe transfers and mobility
- Document patient observations, care activities, and progress accurately in compliance with healthcare standards
Skills
- Proven experience in group homes, assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care settings
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism
- Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, HIPAA compliance knowledge, and experience with medication administration are highly valued
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate patient monitoring equipment effectively
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with healthcare teams, patients, families, and social workers
- Familiarity with care plans, hospice care protocols, resident’s
, and working within long-term care environments - Demonstrated ability to work independently while adhering to safety standards and maintaining confidentiality
