Estimator (Hyperscale Datacenter)

Job Duties and Responsibilities:   

• Develop Comprehensive Cost Estimates: Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for hyperscale data center projects, including materials, labor, engineering, travel, tooling, and other related expenses.
• Project Documentation Analysis: Review and analyze contract documents, blueprints, and technical specifications to determine project scope, requirements, and potential inconsistencies.
• Bid and Proposal Preparation: Create detailed bid proposals and submissions, ensuring alignment with project budgets and client expectations.
• Risk Management: Identify potential project risks, monitor scope changes, and submit timely change orders as needed.
• Collaboration: Work closely with sales, engineering, procurement, and project management teams to refine cost projections and ensure smooth transitions throughout the project life cycle.
• Vendor and Subcontractor Coordination: Source and evaluate pricing from vendors and subcontractors to ensure cost-effectiveness and compliance with project requirements.
• Compliance and Standards: Ensure all estimates and proposals adhere to industry standards, building codes, and company policies.
• Database Management: Maintain up-to-date databases of costs, trends, and market conditions relevant to data center construction.

Required Skills and Qualifications 

• Education: High school diploma or GED required; or related field preferred.
• Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of experience in cost estimation, specifically for large-scale hyperscale data center or mission-critical infrastructure projects.
• Technical Proficiency: Expertise in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam), familiarity with AutoCAD/BIM360, and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
• Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of structured cabling and low-voltage systems.
• Analytical and Communication Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Additional Requirements 

• Attention to Detail: Ability to identify inconsistencies and ensure accuracy in all documentation and cost calculations.

Physical Requirements:   

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 
• Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times.
