PEARL HARBOR - Rigger/Signal Person - (Hawaii Only!!!!)

NSC Technologies is currently hiring 5-10 is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Rigging and Signal Person to support crane, forklift, and material-handling operations within our Honolulu shipyard. This position plays a key role in safe load movement, communication with crane operators, and hands-on rigging for vessel repair and heavy industrial projects.
Ideal candidates will have shipyard or maritime experience and be comfortable working around cranes, forklifts, and mobile equipment in dynamic environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform rigging, signaling, and material handling operations to support crane and ship repair projects.
• Use proper hand, voice, and whistle signals to guide crane and equipment operators.
• Safely operate telescopic forklifts (telehandlers) for material transport and load staging.
• Inspect and maintain rigging gear (slings, shackles, hooks, spreader bars, etc.) before and after use.
• Support lift planning and participate in job hazard analyses (JHAs).
• Assist with load setup, cribbing, and blocking for heavy lifts and vessel components.
• Uphold company and industry standards including OSHA, NAVFAC P-307, and ASME B30.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of rigging or signal-person experience in a maritime, construction, or industrial setting.
• Competent in crane signaling using standard hand and whistle signals (training provided as needed).
• Experience operating telescopic forklifts (telehandlers) required; certification preferred.
• Basic knowledge of rigging hardware, load angles, and sling inspection.
• Ability to read and follow lift plans, diagrams, and supervisor instructions.
• TWIC card preferred or ability to obtain one.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills in high-traffic environments
• Must be a US Citizen/US National (NO EXCEPTIONS!)
• Must be able to pass a 10 Year Background Check that is required for Base Access
• Must be able to pass drug screening requirements
• Must be able to work for 8 to 12 hours per day
• Must be able to work up to 7 days a week (Occasionally)

Regular schedule Monday - Saturday occasional Sunday

Day shift AVAILABLE (working 8-12 hours a day)

Day shift start time: 6:00am.
