Title: IT Vendor Management Specialist (Hybrid - Des Moines, IA)
Location: Des Moines, IA (onsite every Wednesday)
Type: 6-month contract
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm
Pay Rate: $35/hr
Note:
- Only local candidates will be considered for this role. Candidates must be based in or near Des Moines, IA, and able to work onsite as required (every Wednesday). Relocation or remote candidates outside the area will not be eligible.
- H1B and CPT candidates are not eligible.
Summary
We are seeking an experienced IT Vendor Management Specialist to oversee vendor relationships, contract compliance, service performance, and IT risk management. This role supports IT sourcing and strategy by managing software, hardware, cloud, and consulting vendors while ensuring alignment with agency and industry standards.
Responsibilities
Vendor & Relationship Management
Manage vendor relationships across IT services and solutions.
Serve as primary point of escalation for vendor issues.
Facilitate vendor performance reviews and business review meetings.
Contract, SLA & Compliance Oversight
Oversee SOW execution, renewals, and procurement documentation.
Track SLAs, KPIs, and compliance requirements.
Coordinate with legal and IT procurement teams.
IT Risk & Financial Controls
Track vendor spend and ensure alignment with IT budgets.
Monitor vendor risks including cybersecurity and data privacy.
Support audits and IT compliance initiatives.
Issue & Change Management
Record vendor issues, escalations, and service disruptions.
Manage resolution plans and document changes.
Stakeholder Communication
Schedule vendor meetings and onboarding sessions.
Provide performance updates, contract status reports, and risk summaries.
Required Skills & Experience
3 years of IT Vendor Management experience supporting technology services.
Strong experience managing software, hardware, cloud, and consulting vendors.
Expertise in SLAs, KPIs, compliance, and performance management.
Knowledge of IT risk, cybersecurity, and data privacy considerations.
Familiarity with IT procurement standards and sourcing strategies.
Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience (2 years).
