About the Internship:

Southeast Addiction Center is offering clinical internship opportunities for students and individuals pursuing careers in substance abuse counseling, mental health counseling, and therapy. Our internship program provides hands-on experience within a behavioral health and detox setting under the supervision of an experienced clinical professional with over 10 years of preceptor experience.

We welcome:

• Master’s level counseling and therapy students
• CADC and LADC interns
• Counseling and social work students
• Individuals seeking supervised clinical experience

This internship is designed to provide valuable real-world exposure to addiction treatment, group facilitation, clinical documentation, client engagement, and multidisciplinary teamwork.

Internship Responsibilities:

• Assist with psychosocial assessments and client intakes
• Observe and participate in individual and group counseling sessions
• Support clinical documentation and case notes
• Participate in treatment planning discussions
• Attend weekly supervision and clinical meetings
• Assist with administrative and program support tasks
• Gain exposure to detox and behavioral health operations

Internship Requirements:

• Currently enrolled in or pursuing a counseling, therapy, social work, CADC, or LADC-related program
• Ability to commit to approximately 24 hours per week
• One evening shift per week may be required
• Completion of required training within the first week of internship
• Strong professionalism, communication skills, and willingness to learn
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA guidelines
