Duties And Responsibilities
- Provides direct support, leadership and direction to quality technicians and sanitation staff in a 24-hour facility.
- Maintains and improves product quality by completing product and compliance audits, investigating consumer complaints, collaborating with other members of management to resolve issues.
- Maintains the safety aspect of the plant by periodically performing internal audits of the facility to verify that procedures are being adhered to. This includes GMPs, Sanitation, and Food Safety Plans.
- Ensures that all preventative measures as outlined in Food Safety plan are executed, monitored, and reviewed to include CAPA actions.
- Ensure that all appropriate metrics and KPIs are measured, tracked, and trended. Maintain fiscal responsibility for department budget.
- Maintains all aspects of the Quality Assurance Laboratory, including microbiological, chemical, physical, and sensory aspects of all food products manufactured at this facility.
- Acts as plant liaison in dealings with regulatory agencies and customer company representatives and auditors.
- Work cooperatively and cross functionally to drive continuous improvement efforts.
Target Qualifications:
- 5 years in manufacturing QA and 3 years of supervisory experience
- Bachelor of Science degree highly preferred.
- HACCP and PCQI Certification a plus.
- Strong leadership, team building, motivation and collaboration skills required.
- Able to prioritize, be decisive, strong communication and basic computer skills are required. Data analysis is a plus.
- Statistical analysis and problem-solving skills (5Why's, Fishbone Diagrams, etc.) strongly desired.
- Ability to be reasonably flexible and available to work alternate shifts, early/late hours, weekends, or split shifts as operational needs require.
