Duties
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains complete and accurate employee records.
- Maintains accurate records of active job openings and applications; and conducts interviews, background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
- Conducts new hire orientations.
- Administers and executes human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and training and development.
- Handles employment-related inquiries, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, investigations, and terminations.
- Conducts or assists with record audits and mandatory reports, which may include I-9 audits, EEO-1 filings, payroll audits, and other compliance reviews.
- Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
Target Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree
- 2 years of HR management experience.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems and MS Office Suite including Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills; including negotiation and conflict resolution.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
