Human Resource ManagerDes Moines, IA90-120k Bonus Opportunity

Hiring a HR Manager for a manufacturing facility located in Des Moines, IA. This Manager is responsible for promoting company policies, ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations, and serving as a key partner to plant leadership on all HR matters.

Need someone who can build a strong, professional, collaborative partnership with the site leaders. Candidates must have experience handling day to day on-site manufacturing HR situations. Candidates must possess strong communication skills and the ability to help build culture and morale through engagement initiatives. The role oversees the full employee lifecycle. Candidates should be analytical and is also strategic minded. Attention to detail for recordkeeping, reporting, and HR compliance is important.

Duties

  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains complete and accurate employee records.
  • Maintains accurate records of active job openings and applications; and conducts interviews, background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Conducts new hire orientations.
  • Administers and executes human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and training and development.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, investigations, and terminations.
  • Conducts or assists with record audits and mandatory reports, which may include I-9 audits, EEO-1 filings, payroll audits, and other compliance reviews.
  • Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

Qualifications

Target Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree
  • 2 years of HR management experience.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and MS Office Suite including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills; including negotiation and conflict resolution.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
