Position Overview

Joshua Christian Academy seeks a highly organized, mission-aligned Human Resources Manager to oversee internal HR systems, documentation, and staff support across campuses. This role is responsible for coordinating employment processes, maintaining compliance, supporting staff relations, and partnering with our outsourced HR/payroll provider to ensure best practices are followed.


The Human Resources Manager will report initially to the Head of Schools and, as the organization grows, will transition to reporting under the Director of Operations.

This position focuses on HR administration, internal systems, and staff support — not legal employment authority.


Primary Responsibilities

1. HR Administration & Compliance

  • Coordinate onboarding processes in partnership with outsourced HR/payroll provider.
  • Ensure completion and accuracy of all employment documentation (I-9, W-4, contracts, licensure verification, background checks).
  • Maintain confidential employee personnel files.
  • Track staff licensure, certifications, and renewal deadlines.
  • Ensure employment documentation aligns with accreditation standards.
  • Monitor and track policy acknowledgments and compliance records.
  • Support preparation for audits or compliance reviews.


2. Staff Support & Workplace Culture

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for staff HR process questions.
  • Facilitate Level 1 and Level 2 personnel conversations and mediations.
  • Assist in maintaining a healthy, Christ-centered workplace culture.
  • Support directors in addressing routine staff concerns.
  • Ensure consistent and professional communication regarding HR processes.


3. Performance & Documentation Support

  • Track staff evaluation timelines and documentation.
  • Assist leadership in preparing documentation for performance concerns.
  • Prepare written warnings and performance documentation under leadership guidance.
  • Maintain records related to disciplinary processes.


4. Leadership & Operations Support

  • Work directly with the Head of Schools and Director of Operations on employment documentation.
  • Coordinate communication with outsourced HR provider regarding compliance or employment matters.
  • Track PTO and leave requests internally.
  • Support hiring logistics, interview scheduling, and applicant communication.
  • Maintain updated job descriptions and employment records.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (HR, Business Administration, or related field).
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in HR administration, nonprofit, or corporate settings.
  • Strong understanding of employment documentation and compliance processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
  • Strong organizational and systems-management skills.
  • Ability to facilitate professional conversations with maturity and clarity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Alignment with the mission and Christian values of Joshua Christian Academy.
