Key Responsibilities
- Design and analyze existing and proposed structures, including bridges, culverts, buildings, and related infrastructure
- Plan, direct, and manage all aspects of local, county, and state bridge projects, including permitting and agency coordination
- Lead and contribute to bridge inspection programs and reporting
- Prepare clear, competitive, and technically sound project proposals
- Provide construction-phase support, including contract administration, project coordination, permitting, and budget control
- Manage project financials, ensuring compliance with budgets, schedules, and contractual requirements
- Build and maintain strong client relationships while serving as a trusted technical advisor
- Represent the company within professional and civic organizations such as ASCE, NSPE, and local Chambers of Commerce
- Support senior leadership in growing the structural engineering discipline and expanding client relationships
- Progress into managing, mentoring, and developing a team of Structural Engineers and Designers, with responsibility for utilization, profitability, and overhead performance
Requirements
- B.S. in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Pennsylvania is required; New Jersey PE preferred
- 10 years of relevant bridge and structural engineering experience
- Proven experience working with local and state agencies
- Prior involvement in PennDOT and/or Turnpike projects is highly preferred
- Strong client management experience across the full project lifecycle
- Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills
- Solid understanding of contractual requirements and compliance
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred
- Experience with structural design software, including PennDOT programs
