Job Title: Controller– Multi-Location & Warehouse DistributionLocation: Montebello, CA (multi-site oversight)Reports To: CFOEmployment Type: Full-TimePosition Summary:The Controller is responsible for overseeing all accounting and financial reporting functions for a multi-location operation with warehouse distribution. This role ensures accurate financial statements, strong internal controls, proper inventory accounting, and compliance with regulatory and company requirements. The controller partners closely with operations and leadership to support financial decision-making and scalable growth.Key Responsibilities:Financial Management & Reporting• Oversee general ledger, month-end and year-end close processes• Prepare and review financial statements, consolidations, and variance analyses for multiple locations• Ensure timely and accurate reporting in accordance with GAAP• Manage chart of accounts and location-level financial reportingInventory & Cost Accounting• Oversee inventory accounting across warehouse and branch locations• Ensure accurate valuation, costing (FIFO/LIFO/Weighted Average), and reconciliation• Manage cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory reserves• Analyze inventory turnover, shrinkage, and obsolescenceInternal Controls & Compliance• Establish and maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements• Coordinate audits, reviews, and external accountant relationships• Ensure compliance with sales tax, use tax, payroll tax, and property tax requirementsAP, AR & Cash Management• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and collections• Monitor cash flow, working capital, and credit policies• Manage banking relationships, reconciliations, and cash forecastingBudgeting & Forecasting• Lead annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes• Track actual performance against budget and investigate variances• Support pricing, margin analysis, and cost control initiativesLeadership & Cross-Functional Support• Manage and develop accounting and finance staff• Provide financial guidance to operations, warehouse, and sales leadership• Support system implementations, ERP upgrades, and process improvements• Assist with strategic planning, acquisitions, or expansion initiativesQualifications• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required)• CPA or CMA strongly preferred• 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including multi-location operations• Strong experience with distribution, warehouse, or inventory-driven businesses• Prior supervisory or management experienceTechnical Skills• Strong GAAP knowledge and financial reporting expertise• Experience with inventory accounting and cost controls• Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and Excel• Understanding of sales tax across multiple jurisdictionsKey Competencies• High attention to detail and accuracy• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills• Ability to manage deadlines across multiple entities or locations• Excellent communication and leadership abilities• Proactive, hands-on management approachWork Environment & Requirements• Office-based with interaction across warehouse and branch locations• Occasional travel to company locations• Ability to manage confidential financial informationWhy Join them• Key leadership role with visibility across the organization• Opportunity to strengthen controls and support growth• Competitive compensation and benefits• Long-term stability and advancement potential#ZR
