Since 2015, Nevada Behavioral Health Systems (NBH) has been providing mental health and substance abuse services to residents across Nevada. By collaborating with a diverse network of experienced behavioral healthcare providers, we have built a community-based care system that offers members personalized options tailored to their individual needs. In 2023, we rebranded as NovumHealth with the expansion of our services in Arizona, California, and Utah.

Position: Director of Clinical Operations

Location: Las Vegas, NV – Onsite (This role is not eligible for Remote or Hybrid)

Starting Salary Range: $115,000

The starting salary range for this role is a reasonable estimate, with a goal to pay a competitive market salary focusing near the median of our pay ranges. However, final offers for all positions will be based on several factors such as experience level, education and certification, skills, and internal pay equity.

What’s the role?

As Director of Clinical Operations at NovumHealth (NBH), you provide clinical and operational oversight of the Crisis Stabilization Center, ensuring safe, efficient, and clinically appropriate care for individuals in behavioral health or substance use crisis. This role supervises interdisciplinary staff, oversees care coordination and documentation quality, and partners with medical providers, community agencies, and health plans to ensure seamless transitions across the continuum of care. You are accountable for operational performance, regulatory compliance, and quality outcomes, driving process improvements that support rapid engagement, appropriate placement, and patient-centered, trauma-informed crisis care.

What you’ll do:

  • Oversee daytoday clinical operations of crisis engagement, triage, and care coordination functions within the Crisis Stabilization Center, ensuring safe patient flow, timely assessments, and appropriate levelofcare determinations.
  • Develop and implement workflows, protocols, and standard operating procedures for crisis screening, stabilization, disposition planning, and transitions to inpatient, residential, outpatient, or communitybased services.
  • Coordinate closely with medical staff, mobile crisis teams, hospitals, health plans, and community partners to facilitate rapid admissions, consultations, and transfers while minimizing unnecessary emergency department or inpatient utilization.
  • Maintain realtime oversight of census, throughput, and barriers to discharge or placement; intervene operationally to resolve delays and ensure timely, clinically appropriate transitions.
  • Monitor documentation, regulatory compliance, and quality metrics related to crisis stabilization services, including length of stay, engagement, and successful linkage to followup care.
  • Lead, coach, and support crisis engagement and care coordination staff, providing ongoing training in crisis assessment, deescalation, traumainformed care, and disposition planning.
  • Foster strong interdisciplinary collaboration and clear communication across shifts and departments to ensure continuity and safety of care.
  • Use data and performance trends to drive quality improvement initiatives that enhance access, patient experience, operational efficiency, and clinical outcomes across the crisis continuum.
  • Additional Duties as assigned.

What you’ll need to start:

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive clinical experience in behavioral health or substance use treatment, with significant time in crisis, emergency, inpatient, or stabilization settings.
  • Master’s degree in a behavioral health field required (Social Work, Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, Psychology, or related).
  • Valid Nevada license as an LMFT, LCSW, LCPC, or Psychologist.
  • Must pass drug screening and background check in order to start employment with Novum Health.
  • Must be willing to receive vaccinations in accordance with hospital and state requirements.

  • Previous experience in behavioral health or healthcare environments.
  • Strong knowledge of operational principles, practices, and methodologies.
  • Experience in developing and implementing operational strategies and process improvement initiatives.
  • Experience in healthcare or mental health is strongly preferred.
