Responsibilities & Qualifications

The Novelis team in Bay Minette, Alabama has an exciting opportunity for a Supply Chain Planner! The primary purpose of this role is to work collaboratively with suppliers, shipping providers, metal procurement, and operations, to plan and sequence deliveries of Prime, Hardeners, and Alloying materials into the plant and warehouse partners to support daily operations and maintain strategic inventory targets. The main challenge of this job is handling open orders, lead times, and consumption patterns to ensure the accurate amount and form of a given material is available to Remelt operations as needed to support production goals.

Responsibilities

• Planners work to ensure the plant receives, ships, and maintains accurate metal levels to improve production flow. They work closely with each manufacturing unit and Supply Chain role as well as network Novelis plants. This role will also work with S&OP metal planning to achieve inventory targets for month and quarter financial closings.
• Track deliveries of monthly purchase orders to ensure appropriate delivery timelines and call out any potential risk or carry-over scenarios.
• Work with S&OP metal planning, metal procurement, schedulers, and operations to determine needs, delivery timing, and any gaps that need to be addressed with leadership
• May initially also be trained and asked to schedule production as needed.
• Largely determined by the ability to provide the right amount of material at the right time and handle overall inventory levels.

Qualifications

• BS degree or relevant experience
• 1 to 3 years of experience in Supply Chain management or 1-3 years in comparable manufacturing environment
• Strong analytical skills with proven expertise in MS Office tools as well as database, business intelligence and related tools/technologies
• Strong communication skills; written, oral, group facilitation.
• Strong leadership characteristics that are balanced to Novelis’ culture of collaboration and partnership

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on expertise with modern supply chain management tools (e.g. Quintiq, sap APO, etc.) and/or SAP ERP.

Location Profile

Novelis' newly announced Bay Minette facility will be located 35 miles northeast of Mobile AL and 45 miles west of Pensacola FL and is expected to create approximately 1000 high-paying advanced careers in modern manufacturing. This highly advanced rolling and recycling facility will be the first of its kind. It will primarily serve our customers in the beverage can and automotive markets.
