Apply paint and ensure quality of application, know how to work with several products within a paint range and train teams

Main Missions

1 - Ensure that paint is applied in compliance with procedures and adapting to risks- Prepare his/her workstation

• Adjust the gun in accordance with the data sheet
• Install the filter in the gun
• Check the gun nozzle
• Make sure his/her workstation is stocked with materials required, if necessary
• Apply the paint and varnish in accordance with procedures and standards (production, quality, flows, health & safety, etc.)
• Measure and adjust the flow of the gun to ensure even spray
• Respect the application distance and control the thickness of the paint applied to ensure a smooth, even coat
  
  

Analyse causes and decide on methods and means most suited to his/her missions

2 - Guarantee the quality of his/her production

• Perform the self-inspection
• Identify faults associated with the application and correct them accordingly
• Check the gloss
• Test the adhesion of the paint to the part
  
  

Update the log cards or the IT system

3 - Perform maintenance procedures

• Disassemble and reassemble the gun
• Service the gun
• Replace the filter
• Make sure that the spray booth is kept tidy
• Clean his/her workstation and some equipment
  
  

4 - Help to ensure the smooth running of his/her zone

• Make suggestions and help to implement them
• Develop his/her versatility and multi skills
• Take part in working groups and progress meetings
• Comply with the rules of the company and 5S
• Help others
  
  

5 - Pass on required information to the production team

• Attend zone meetings
• Notify the paint facility operator or manager in the event of a fault or potential problem
• Ensure that instructions are communicated to the next painter at shift handover
  
  

6 - Provide technical tutoring in his/her field of expertise: paint application

• Transfer expertise by running training sessions
• Help to analyse rejects
• Propose and implement adapted solutions
• Help to select and implement improvement actions
• Provide technical support to painters
  
  

Help to integrate new paints and new processes and accept these in terms of reliability and quality
