Duties
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed health histories.
- Administer medications and injections accurately following prescribed protocols while monitoring for adverse reactions.
- Manage IV infusions and catheter care with precision, ensuring sterile techniques are maintained at all times.
- Assist with complex procedures such as wound suturing, spinal taps, and respiratory support including ventilator management.
- Document all patient interactions thoroughly using EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems like Epic or Cerner, adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other memory-related conditions in memory and assisted living settings.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on discharge planning, case management, and patient education to promote optimal recovery outcomes.
Experience
- Valid state licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse with current certification to practice.
- Proven experience in critical care environments such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated proficiency in medical documentation using EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks.
- Hands-on experience with diverse patient populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, neonatal ventilator management, and behavioral health cases.
- Familiarity with advanced nursing procedures such as phlebotomy, tube feeding management, oxygen therapy, and infection control protocols.
- Knowledge of ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding for procedures, and medical terminology to ensure accurate documentation and billing compliance.
- Prior work in hospital medicine, emergency room settings, or post-acute care environments preferred; experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges is a plus.
