Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Lead Caregiver to join our team and provide exceptional support to residents in various care settings. As a Lead Caregiver, you will play a vital role in overseeing daily care activities, mentoring team members, and ensuring that residents receive personalized, respectful, and high-quality care. Duties
- Lead and coordinate caregiving activities for residents, ensuring all personal care needs are met with compassion and professionalism
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility assistance, and toileting
- Monitor and record vital signs, medication administration, and health status updates using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
- Support residents with specialized care needs including Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, memory care, and behavioral management strategies
- Supervise and mentor caregiving staff, providing guidance on best practices in assisted living, home & community care, and long-term care environments
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning resident areas and common spaces
- Drive residents to appointments or outings when required while adhering to safety protocols
Requirements
- Proven experience in senior care, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings
- Knowledge of first aid procedures and emergency response protocols
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges; familiarity with behavior management techniques
- Ability to assist with ADLs and provide personal care with empathy and respect for resident dignity
- Strong understanding of vital signs monitoring, medication administration, dementia care, and Alzheimer’s support strategies
- Prior experience using EMR systems for documentation; group home or retirement home experience is highly desirable
- Valid driver’s license for transportation duties; ability to operate Hoyer lifts or other mobility aids preferred
- Excellent communication skills; ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining positive resident relationships
