Ballet Instructor – All Levels
Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced, passionate, and dedicated Ballet Instructor to join our dance faculty. The ideal candidate will have 10–20 years of ballet teaching experience and a strong foundation in classical ballet technique. This instructor should be comfortable teaching dancers of all ages and levels, from preschool and recreational students to advanced and pre-professional dancers. We are looking for an educator who can inspire technical excellence, artistry, discipline, and a lifelong appreciation for dance.
Duties
- Teach ballet classes for students of all ages and experience levels, including beginner, intermediate, advanced, and pre-professional dancers.
- Develop and implement comprehensive ballet curriculum that emphasizes proper technique, alignment, strength, flexibility, musicality, and artistry.
- Create age-appropriate lesson plans that support the technical and artistic development of each student.
- Choreograph ballet routines and variations for recitals, showcases, competitions, and special performances.
- Assess student progress and provide individualized feedback to support growth and achievement.
- Foster a positive, disciplined, and encouraging classroom environment that promotes confidence and a strong work ethic.
- Prepare students for performances, examinations, auditions, and advancement opportunities when applicable.
- Collaborate with studio staff and faculty to support studio events, productions, and educational initiatives.
- Communicate professionally with students, parents, and fellow faculty members regarding expectations and student progress.
Qualifications
- 10–20 years of ballet teaching experience in a studio, academy, conservatory, or professional setting.
- Extensive training and knowledge of classical ballet technique and pedagogy.
- Experience teaching dancers across all age groups and skill levels.
- Strong understanding of anatomy, injury prevention, proper alignment, and dancer development.
- Proven experience choreographing and preparing students for stage performances.
- Exceptional classroom management and organizational skills.
- Professional, reliable, and committed to maintaining high instructional standards.
- Experience with pointe instruction and pre-pointe training is highly preferred.
