What are the responsibilities and job description for the Alternative Learning Center Teacher position at NOT SPECIFIED?
Full time teacher needed to assist students with behavioral issues in a small group setting. Qualified teachers should be able to implement behavioral strategies to assist the students in returning to a whole classroom environment. This is a full time, benefitted 10 month position. Salary is based on previous teaching experience.
To design and deliver a short term program of sequential activities that will help students with behavioral problems change and return to the regular school population.
Preference given to applicants with Specical Education background.
Requirements
Educational Requirements - Standard Professional Certification or Guidance Certification.
Training and Experience Requirement - Teacher must be certified in Education, Guidance/Special Education or Social Work.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements

- Ability to work well with teachers and administrators.
- Ability to deal with parents and guardians of students.
- Ability to work with students to help them control their anger and solve conflicts in a peaceful manner.
- The ability to design activities to help achieve and reinforce desired behaviors.
- The ability to resolve any conflicts that may occur in the classroom.
- The ability to assess both academic and behavioral progress.
- Maintain a safe and happy learning environment for all students.
- DUTIES:
- Plan a course of study for students to follow.
- Generate lesson plans for the activities to be utilized each day.
- Keep office informed of attendance and progress of students in class.
- Keep a neat and clean work area and classroom.
- Teach students social skills and how to display proper behavior so they may return to the regular school population.
- Keep administration informed of any problems that may occur.
