Table Game Dealer

POSITION SUMMARY

The Table Game Dealer conducts assigned table games with accuracy, speed, and complete game integrity while delivering an engaging, hospitality-driven experience at the table. The Dealer is the primary point of contact for guests during play and is accountable for protecting the game, the chip tray, and the assets of the property at all times. All work is performed in accordance with Norwest Gaming Group internal control policies, approved house rules, and the rules and regulations of the Washington State Gambling Commission. Your first break will be paid to include all state required paid breaks. All subsequent breaks will be unpaid.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Game Conduct and Guest Experience

• Deal assigned games as trained and licensed, following approved house rules and NGG internal controls for dealing procedures, game pace, and payout accuracy.

• Convert guest cash into gaming chips and settle winning and losing wagers precisely, as prescribed by the approved rules of the game.

• Announce and verify buy-ins, color changes, and payouts in accordance with established procedures.

• Build rapport at the table by greeting arriving guests, using their names where it is natural to do so, and walking them through rules and betting options in a courteous manner.

• Maintain a professional, service-oriented presence at the table and respond to guest questions and concerns promptly, escalating disputes to the Floor Supervisor.

• Support responsible gaming by providing program information on request and reporting concerns to a supervisor.

Game Protection and Compliance

• Safeguard the game at all times, exercising continuous control over the tray, cards, dice, and every piece of equipment on the assigned table.

• Protect and control chips, cards, and other gaming assets; report discrepancies, shortages, and irregularities to a supervisor immediately.

• Understand and comply with the gaming statutes and implementing regulations of the jurisdiction, together with the internal control policies and procedures established by NGG.

• Observe and report suspicious activity, advantage play, cheating, collusion, or procedural irregularity to a supervisor.

• Perform card and equipment inspection, shuffling, and shuffler operation in accordance with approved procedures.

• Comply with all applicable currency transaction and suspicious activity reporting requirements by reporting qualifying activity to a supervisor as directed by NGG procedure.

• Participate in opening, closing, table inventory count, fill and credit, and dealer rotation procedures as assigned, including required signatures on gaming documents.

• Maintain a valid Washington State Gambling Commission card room employee license and any other credentials required for the position.

• Assist with soft count functions when the property requires coverage.

Workplace Standards

• Report to the assigned table on time, in uniform, and prepared for the shift.

• Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe table and work area, and follow all safety regulations.

• Clock in and out for all unpaid breaks and before cashing out tokes at the end of your shift. Tips in Trust forms may be completed in advance if you choose not to stay.

• Use of a personal mobile device anywhere on the gaming floor is not permitted while on the clock; undivided attention to the job is expected throughout the shift.

• Complete all assigned training, including new game training, compliance training, and refreshers.

• Carry out additional assignments as directed by management.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Experience, and Training

• Completion of high school, a GED, or comparable practical experience.

• At least six (6) months of prior dealing experience, together with the licensure required to hold the position.

• Applicant must have reached the age of eighteen (18).

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Washington State Gambling Commission card room employee license.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Practical familiarity with pull tab operations, along with an understanding of Washington State gambling rules and regulatory requirements.

• Capable of reading and understanding every document associated with the role.

• Communicates clearly and consistently with guests and with team members at every level of the organization.

• Works well alongside colleagues and engages comfortably with members of the public.

• Presents a tidy, professional image and maintains sound personal grooming standards.

• Proficient in spoken and written English, including reading comprehension.

• Competent in the four basic mathematical operations across all units of measure, whether working in whole numbers, fractions, or decimals.

• Exceptional guest service ability is essential to the position.

• Ability to perform mental arithmetic quickly and accurately under time pressure and while carrying on conversation.

• Manual dexterity sufficient to handle cards, chips, and gaming equipment with precision and consistency.

• Ability to maintain composure and professional demeanor in high-volume, high-pressure, or confrontational situations.

• Ability to follow detailed written and verbal procedures exactly, without deviation.

• Ability to work independently at the table with limited direct supervision while remaining subject to surveillance and floor observation.

• Discretion in handling confidential guest, financial, and surveillance-related information.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The role is performed in a high-tempo casino setting. Extended periods of standing, walking, or sitting are required, as are speaking, hearing, writing, and fine finger and tactile manipulation. Lifting and carrying of up to thirty pounds (30 lbs.) is required, and heavier loads on occasion. Reaching with the hands and arms, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling occur regularly, and the incumbent may be exposed to swings in temperature at either extreme.

The position requires close visual acuity for reading cards, chips, and gaming documents, and the ability to distinguish colors. Work is performed in an environment with elevated noise levels and continuous surveillance coverage. Schedules include nights, weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts based on business needs.
