Position Summary:
AV Tech is responsible for (PA, mics, wireless and more) as well as the sound mixing for live performances. The role of the AV Tech is critical to event and program productions. The AV Tech will also be assisting the Manager with audio visual initiatives and challenges.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Set up and operate audio visual equipment for internal and external events.
- Assist with issues regarding the donor digital wall.
- Monitor sound feeds to ensure quality.
- Clean, maintain and properly store audio and video equipment.
- Conduct inventory of all a/v equipment and provide reports to manager.
- Ensure the safe transfer and shipment of equipment following proper safety measures.
- Assist with organization and maintenance of all storage areas.
- Set up and take down events as needed.
- Perform duties on location.
- Mixing live music/bands
- Other duties as may be assigned.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Three to five years’ experience in AV
- Strong customer service skills and ability to consistently deliver to clients a high-quality experience.
- Ability to efficiently operate, troubleshoot and repair a/v equipment.
- Good collaboration skills, strong team player.
- Must be available on Fridays for Art After Dark
Hours and Compensation:
- Variable schedule; Days. Nights, Weekends
- Part-Time, Non-Exempt
- Compensation: Commensurate with experience
Location Requirements:
At the time of employment, employees are expected to be located within reasonable commuting distance of the museum. Commuting Distance means they are located in South Florida, and able to commute to and from the Museum in a single day.
