JOB SUMMARY:
Ensure that staff at all school-aged childcare program sites follow legal and district requirements to provide appropriate, safe, and secure school-aged child care programs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Additional duties may be assigned.
- Supervise and collaborate with team leaders and paraprofessionals in the preparation and maintenance of reports, records, child care rosters, registration forms, documentation, and all other paperwork required or appropriate to the program’s administration.
- Supervise team leaders and paraprofessionals to ensure that regulations for the site are properly implemented.
- Supervise team leaders and paraprofessionals to ensure that appropriate steps are implemented to ensure the safety and security of children in the program.
- Communicate with the Executive Director of Administrative Services as necessary to ensure that the needs of children and the program are met.
- Monitor all daily operations regarding revenue and expenditures to maintain current and accurate financial records according to district policy.
- Research and pursue appropriate grant money and other financial resources to support students and the program.
- Collaborate with site staff, parents, guardians, teachers, and school administrators, as necessary to provide a safe, secure, and appropriate program to children.
- Collaborate with parents, guardians, substitutes, and program staff to ensure that the program is adequately staffed for the number of children present; review schedules to ensure that appropriate staffing reflects needs. Substituting within the program as needed.
- Order snacks and supplies so that children receive snacks and have materials for activities as required.
- Ensure that staff observe any requirements for individual children in the program.
- Perform personnel functions (e.g. interviewing, evaluating, supervising, record maintenance, etc.) of program staff for the purposes of maintaining adequate staffing, enhancing productivity of personnel, and achieving objectives within budget.
- Coordinate all trainings, meetings, and events associated with the program, along with district-wide committees and activities. Represent the district at area/regional conferences and meetings as needed.
- Coordinate and facilitate training for all program staff. Ensure appropriate staff development opportunities are provided.
- Comply with district policies and procedures and all state and federal mandates. Work to ensure that District staff understand and abide by the same guidelines.
- Develop and implement internal and external marketing strategies to recruit families to the program using a variety of methods.
- Network with other agencies to enhance various components of the program.
- Oversee the maintenance of all records for the state and district, including but not limited to verification of DESE mandated records, DVN contracts, food and beverage permits, staff records, and CPR/First Aid certifications.
- Develop, implement, and communicate information to families and staff, including but not limited to curriculum aligned with district curriculum goals, policies, and snack menus.
- Other duties as necessary to ensure that children receive a safe and secure child-care program.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position requires supervisory responsibilities.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Experience successfully creating, implementing, and managing child care programs.
- Between three (3) to five (5) years of supervisory experience preferred.
- Degree in a related field preferred.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
- Must have the ability to communicate and interact effectively.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations using whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages.
REASONING ABILITY:
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, and/or schedule form.
- Ability to interpret Board of Education policy and regulation for all employee groups.

- Satisfactory completion of background check requirements
- Knowledge of the requirements of child abuse/neglect laws
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly sit, talk, listen, and respond. The employee frequently is required to walk and use fingers, tools, and/or various controls. The employee must occasionally stand and reach with arms and hands. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and depth perception. Occasionally, the employee will lift up to 50 pounds, such as to lift files and papers.
