Position Summary
The Fiber Splicer Technician is responsible for the installation, splicing, testing, and maintenance of fiber optic cable systems. This role plays a critical part in ensuring high-quality network performance by delivering precise splicing work, troubleshooting connectivity issues, and maintaining industry safety standards.
This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on technical work, problem solving, and contributing to essential communications infrastructure.
Qualifications
Required
- Experience with fiber optic splicing, testing, or telecommunications installation
- Knowledge of fusion splicing equipment and fiber preparation techniques
- Ability to read and interpret splice diagrams and construction prints
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in physically demanding environments
Preferred
- 1 years of fiber splicing experience
- Experience with OTDR testing equipment
- Knowledge of aerial and underground fiber construction practices
- CDL license or ability to obtain one
- OSHA or safety training certifications
