Position Summary

The Fiber Splicer Technician is responsible for the installation, splicing, testing, and maintenance of fiber optic cable systems. This role plays a critical part in ensuring high-quality network performance by delivering precise splicing work, troubleshooting connectivity issues, and maintaining industry safety standards.


This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on technical work, problem solving, and contributing to essential communications infrastructure.


Qualifications

Required

  • Experience with fiber optic splicing, testing, or telecommunications installation
  • Knowledge of fusion splicing equipment and fiber preparation techniques
  • Ability to read and interpret splice diagrams and construction prints
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in physically demanding environments


Preferred

  • 1 years of fiber splicing experience
  • Experience with OTDR testing equipment
  • Knowledge of aerial and underground fiber construction practices
  • CDL license or ability to obtain one
  • OSHA or safety training certifications
