At Northside Machine & Tool, we aren't a high-volume production shop. We specialize in prototype machining, custom manufacturing, repair work, and short-run production. Every day brings a new project and a new challenge.
We're looking for an experienced CNC Setup Machinist who can independently set up and operate CNC equipment while producing high-quality precision parts.

Responsibilities
- Independently set up and operate CNC mills and/or lathes.
- Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Install and set cutting tools.
- Set work offsets and tool length offsets.
- Verify first article parts before production.
- Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring equipment.
- Make minor program edits at the machine when necessary.
- Troubleshoot machining and setup issues.
- Maintain setup sheets and job documentation.
- Keep machines and work area clean and organized.
QualificationsRequired
- Experience setting up CNC machining centers and/or CNC lathes.
- Ability to independently complete machine setups.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Experience using micrometers, calipers, indicators, bore gages, and other inspection equipment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Reliable attendance and positive attitude.
Preferred
- Experience with Haas, Okuma, or Fadal controls.
- Basic G-code editing.
- Experience holding close tolerances.
- Experience machining steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and plastics.
- Knowledge of GD&T.
