Position Summary
Northside Charter High School seeks a passionate and dedicated English Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. The ideal candidate will inspire and educate students to develop strong reading, writing, and critical thinking skills, fostering a lifelong love of literature and language arts. Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons in English Language Arts, including literature, composition, grammar, and vocabulary.
Student Engagement: Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture that encourages active participation, critical inquiry, and respectful discussion.
Assessment and Feedback: Design and implement assessments that evaluate student progress, provide timely feedback and adjust instruction as needed.
Differentiation: Tailor instruction to meet diverse learning needs, including advanced learners and students requiring additional support.
Classroom Management: Maintain an organized, disciplined, and respectful learning environment.
Collaboration: Work with colleagues to align curriculum, share resources, and participate in professional learning communities.
Parent Communication: Maintain open and proactive communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.
Professional Growth: Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in English education and pedagogy.
School Community: Participate in school events, committees, and initiatives to contribute to the broader school culture.
Professional Responsibilities:
Consistently adhere to all deadlines, including the timely submission of lesson plans, the accurate and up-to-date maintenance of the gradebook, and the completion and submission of teacher reports by designated deadlines. Demonstrate punctuality and maintain a professional demeanor and outlook daily.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field.
Valid teaching certification for secondary English (or ability to obtain certification before start date).
Demonstrated expertise in teaching English Language Arts at the high school level.
Preferred:
Master’s degree in English, Education, or a related field.
Experience teaching Advanced Placement (AP) English or dual-credit courses.
Strong proficiency in integrating technology into instruction.
