About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and inspiring Elective Teacher to join our team. In this role, you will empower students to reach their full academic potential and prepare them for success in college, career, and beyond. You will cultivate a rigorous yet supportive learning environment that builds student confidence and fosters a college-going culture.
Core Responsibilities
Promote College & Career Exploration
Motivate students to enroll in honors, AP, or dual-credit courses.
Build a Supportive Learning Community
Develop strong, trusting relationships with students.
Provide consistent academic coaching and personal mentorship.
Collaborate with Key Stakeholders
Work closely with the department team, content teachers, families, and guidance to provide integrated student support.
Contribute to interdisciplinary planning and department/team meetings.
Engage in Ongoing Professional Development
Continuously reflect on and improve instructional practice.

Strong communication and relationship-building skills with students, families, and colleagues
Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with a focus on accountability and follow-through
Growth mindset and belief in every student’s potential, especially first-generation college-goers
Adaptability and teamwork, with a willingness to learn and collaborate in a dynamic school environment
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in education or related field; teaching certification preferred.
Prior experience working in diverse, high-needs school communities.
